I WISH to say how much I agree with most of the points made by Serena Lonton (April 27).

She refers to a ‘stream of effluent’ from the Remain campaign, and I could not have put it better.

Every problem in our country’s economy is put down to one reason or other instead of an admittance that immigration is completely out of control.

We are frequently reminded of growing problems in the NHS, but no one ever admits it is overloaded with migrants.

The “stream of effluent” was further exacerbated by Barack Obama, who started sounding like Cameron’s mouthpiece almost as soon as his plane landed.

Shame on you Barack, as I quite liked you until then.

I remember how heavily Tony Blair was criticised for cosying up to Bush some years ago, and now Cameron is doing likewise.

Cameron has many millions of voters bluffed, both on the economy and on EU membership. After all, this is the government who said the UK economy would be in the black by 2014, then changed this to 2020. They moved the goalposts, but “in the black” is not going to happen.

In my lifetime I have seen the UK economy go from fair to bad, then to worse, to worse than ever, and ultimately to dreadful. It seems to me EU membership is doing the same to the UK as it did to Greece, while Cameron and Osborne pursue an obsession with privatisation and tax cuts for the multi-millionaires.
