THORNCOMBE Village Shop celebrated its fifth anniversary this week, treating customers and volunteers to a spread featuring some of its finest fare.
The shop is community owned and staffed largely by volunteers.
Committee member Amy Ralph said: “This shop has become the glue that has the village together and is about so much more than the daily loaf of bread or pint of milk.”
The shop can offer something different to the supermarkets with homemade goods ranging from cakes and quiches to handmade cards. The committee is still looking forward – plans include a new electrionic payment system and fridges, and continued community events.
