Ilminster Co-op store to close in October for major refit

First published in News

THE Co-Operative supermarket, in Ilminster, is set to close “for a matter of days” next month.

The store, in Cornhill, is due to undergo a major refit but a spokesman for the firm said they expect to remain open as usual throughout September and the majority of October.

Exact dates and details over closing are still being finalised.

I hope they remove the wires linked to the output of the dreadful noise they play in there.

It unsettles me mentally ( I take medication for depression) so I just want to grab what's essential and get out. If it were peaceful I would shop in there more.

No need for the noise. If people want noise in their ears all the time there are plenty of gadgets available these days.

'No muzak' should be the default, so everyone has the choice.

I hear 5 have gone already ? ? Some of them have long service. Bet they didn't get made redundant?
But what do Co-Op care
They lost something like £1.5 billion, maybe more last year. So they got to their money back some how.
Sell everything off, bully the work force so they leave.
Cash in the bank.
That's your caring, sharing Co-Op ! !
