SOMERSET County Council’s cabinet member for business, inward investment and policy, Cllr David Hall, has met with Transport Minister Robert Goodwill MP and Devon MP Neil Parish to discuss improvements to the A303.
Cllr Hall said: “Journey times from parts of the county to major markets represent a significant brake on productivity. One of our priorities is to support business and economic growth in Somerset.
“The council will be working hard to progress and promote the project to dual the A303 with both local stakeholders and Government officials to see how best to secure these much-needed improvements into the future.
“We have set out A303 improvements in our Future Transport Plan. We are committed to ensuring Somerset has a modern and sustainable road network, which can only benefit the environment, and businesses’ and residents’ ability to move around easily.”
