NEROCHE Primary School in Broadway is celebrating its 40th birthday in the autumn term.
Governors are hoping to arrange events and activities to mark this occasion, and are keen to hear from past staff and pupils, especially if they have any memorabilia or memories to share.
Schools in Broadway, Donyatt and Horton closed at the end of summer term in 1973 with children transferring to the newly opened school in Broadway.
Governors are particularly keen to hear from the group of children who would have been the oldest to transfer, and, therefore, the first group to move on to their secondary education in 1974.
If any of the following people are able to get in touch with the school, governors would be pleased to hear from them: Peter Cosgrove, Carolyn Turner, Irene Petty, Julie Lazell, Sally-Anne Laver, Ann White, David Bond, Alyson Carter, Jennifer Carr, Janet Bennett, Malcolm Bartlett, Alan Sutton, Ian Whitefield, Philip Walsh, Christopher Steers, Alison Bond, Anthea Mills and Meryl Woolcott.
Governors are interested in seeing class photographs from that time, especially any taken with Mr S. Hedley, the school’s first headteacher, or members of his staff, Mrs K. Thickett, Miss Rees-Davies, Miss S Burrows, Mr T. Holmes and Mrs J. Kay-Newman.
