ILMINSTER Rotary Club is urging young people to put themselves forward for an activity week to learn team building and survival skills.

The club has raised around £900 to send two teenagers between 16 and 18 on the week long course in Dorset but have so far failed to find anyone who is interested in taking part.

Participants learn team building and motivational skills as well as survival tactics.

Linda Piggott from the club said: "It's quite an expensive course and we've managed to raise enough for two people but it seems no one has come forward to fill the places.

"I can't believe it really - some years there are more than we can send but the last couple of years we have struggled."

The deadline to fill the spaces is in two weeks and Linda and the other members are keen to find two young people who would really benefit from the experience.

Linda added: "We usually interview all applicants to make sure we send someone who is right for the course.

"But it really is a great opportunity and I hope we get some people come forward."
