ON Saturday Chard faced Camborne, one of only two teams to have beaten them this season.

Chard went ahead with a trademark Harry Felgate goal at the near post.

The home side added another goal before half time, Ben Larcombe rounding three defenders and scoring from the top of the D.

The second half was goalless, Chard seeing it out.

Chard 9, Caradon 3

CHARD faced Caradon on Sunday, knowing a win would put them three points clear at the top with four games remaining.

Caradon stunned the hosts by taking the lead, but Fraser Lewis soon equalised and Harry Felgate put them ahead.

George Retter scored twice, and after Caradon pulled one back, he completed a first-half hat-trick.

Chard stayed in control, adding further goals through Mike Wakely, Matt Sheahan and Felgate, and Caradon scored one more consolation goal.

West Dorset A 1, Chard A 3

THIS was no repeat of the dour goalless draw between the sides in November, as after a two-week fixture gap, the 2nd XI claimed a rare victory in Bridport.

The hosts only had 10 players, but games against West Dorset tend to be close, and Chard faced an in-form goalkeeper.

Jason Goddard broke the deadlock, finishing captain James Spurdle’s effort, and Harvey Dening made it 2-0 with a reverse stick shot.

After the break Goddard passed for Justin Green to tap in, and although the hosts scored off a defensive lapse, Chard took the win.

Chard squad: R Green, N Liggins, A Critchley, P Tratt, S Mahoney, J Goddard, N Parkinson, J Spurdle (capt), M Wheaton, J Green, H Dening, M Lane, T King, T Goss.

On Saturday, Chard A are at home to Tiverton.
