WITH the indoor leagues in their final weeks there are going to be some close finishes at Ilminster Bowls Club.

The Monday day rinks have Barry Sims seven points ahead of Paddy McDonagh who has a game in hand with John Fenwick in third place on 19 points.

The Monday St Austell Brewery Premier League looks to be a two-horse race with Rowland Garland leading with 34 points and a game in hand over Peter Mattravers who is two points behind, Kevin Hamilton is in third place on 21 points.

Ladies Triples - Tuesday has Sylvia Read in first place on 31 points with Margaret Evans in second with 27 and Dot Whelan in third with 24 Points.

Men's Triples - Tuesday has been won with five games to play by Kevin Hamilton with a perfect score of played 20, won 20. The fight is for second between Roger Pincombe on 22 points and Barry Sims on 21.

Day Triples - Wednesday has Mike King in a strong position in the lead on 36 points with Roy Orme in second on 24, Royston Grout is in third place on 21.

Wednesday Evening - Rinks sees Dave Crouch with a two-point lead with 24 points over Sue Spurway who has a game in hand with John Mitchell in third two points further back on 20 points but with two games in hand. This could go to the last game.

Pairs - Thursday has two teams fighting for first place with Dave Crouch on 25 points and with a game in hand over second place Rex Corbet on 22 with Sarah Lightfoot and Jill Parker fighting it out for third with both on 18 points.

The Milford & Dormor Mixed Triples - Friday is another close contest with Bev Brister leading with 24 points, Will Anderson in second on 22 with two games in hand and John Parsons and Barry Sims fighting it out for third.
