CHARD B were at home against higher-placed St Theresa’s in the East Devon League.
The visiting players had a hard time getting to grips with the mats and Chard won 6-2 and by 78 shots to 36.
In the Milford and Dormor league there was quite an afternoon with the possibility of Hurricanes winning again if the Harlequins skip had decided to take his final bowl.
In this case discretion was the watchword. With Harl-equins holding the two shots they needed to win the match, their skip decided not to bowl and risk the match. Hurricanes won more ends but lost 10-9.
Royals made a terrible start and trailed 16-1 after eight ends. They fought back strongly but still lost 17-12.
