CHARD B lost at Lyme Regis away in the East Devon league despite picking up more shots.

Chard scored 57 shots to Lyme’s 52 but lost the match 5-3 in games.

The Milford and Dormor league res-umed after the holiday break but there was little change to the fortunes of the teams with Greyhounds beating Hurricanes 12-8 and Harlequins beating Magpies 21-5.

Greyhounds and Hurricanes had a much closer game than the final score suggests and were trading shots for most of the ends.

Hurricanes generally held the upper hand until the very last end when Greyhounds sco-red five shots to take the match.

Magpies managed to stay with Harlequins for the first three ends but then Harlequins just stepped on the gas to win convincingly.
