South West Peninsula League, Premier East: Torrington 0-4 Ilminster Town
Ilminster made it three wins on the bounce as they comfortably beat Torrington on Saturday.
They got off to the best possible start as Marky Jones picked up a pass from Jack Steer and saw his shot go in off the post in the second minute.
Ilminster dominated play without adding to their 1-0 lead in the first half as the Torrington game plan seemed to revolve with their big centre half time after time launching the ball forward.
This played right into Ilminster hands as they picked the ball up and started dictating play.
The second half began much like the first, with Jordy Lovibond delivering a cross three minutes after the restart that Ed Butcher controlled before firing home to make it 2-0.
Just before the hour mark a great piece of football, as Jones played the ball into the path of Butcher who crossed for Jack Steer to apply the finishing touch from three yards out for 3-0.
Taylor Jefferson then picked up the ball some 30 yards out with the big keeper venturing out of his goal.
Jefferson somehow curled his effort around the keeper to find the bottom corner to stretch the lead to 4-0.
It was a comprehensive win for the third placed Blues with Jack Steer picking up the player of the match just edging out Marky Jones who also had a fine match.
A very solid display once again from the whole team.
Team: Shay Allen, JJ Evans, Drew Stride, Neil Martin, Harry Manley, Caleb Pack, Marky Jones, Braeden Symes, Jack Steer, Ed Butcher, Jordy Lovibond Subs Used: Taylor Jefferson, Owan Burn, Olly Pearson, Harvey Saunders
