Ilminster Town's FA Vase journey ended with a 6-1 defeat against Street AFC.

The match saw Ilminster level the score with a Josh Phillips penalty after Eddie Townsend's 25-yard opener.

However, a Chris Barrett header put Street back in front just before the break.

Ilminster started the second half strongly, pressing forward and controlling possession, with near misses from Phillips and Ed Butcher.

Yet, Street took over from the hour mark, scoring four times in 15 minutes.

Despite the defeat, Harry Manley was named Ilminster's player of the match for his defensive display.

The team comprised Shay Allen, Owen Burn, Harry Manley, Neil Martin, Caleb Pack, Harvey Saunders, Braeden Symes, Phillips, Marky Jones, Jack Steer, and Butcher, with substitutes Jacob Evans, Lewis Trusson, Taylor Jefferson, Drew Stride, and Jordy Lovibond used.

Ilminster's next match is a Somerset Premier Cup game against Bridgwater United at the Archie Gooch Pavilion on Tuesday, September 15, with a 7.30pm kick-off.

Saturday, September 19, sees them return to league action with an away match against Elburton Villa, currently at the top of the SWPL (East) table, kicking off at 3pm.
