Ilminster Town kicked off their South West Peninsula League Premier (East) season with a 7-0 victory over Middlezoy.
Josh Phillips and Jordy Lovibond opened the scoring in the first half, while Jack Steer, Taylor Jefferson, Lewis Trusson, and an own goal completed the rout.
The Blues dominated the match, controlling the ball and territory.
Their efforts paid off in the 24th minute with a smart volley from Phillips, followed by a goal from Lovibond before the break.
In the second half, Ilminster continued their attacking display.
Phillips assisted Steer for the third goal, before setting up Jefferson for the fourth.
Trusson added a fifth, and an own goal made it six.
The seventh and final goal came from Trusson in the 90th minute.
Despite their best efforts, Middlezoy were unable to break through Ilminster's defence.
Goalkeeper Shay Allen made two crucial saves to keep a clean sheet, with a goal-line clearance from Drew Stride.
Middlezoy attempted to play their game but struggled against Ilminster's experience and power.
The Blues' squad of 16 players all contributed to the victory, with standout performances from Braeden Symes in midfield and Harry Manley in defence.
However, the player of the match was 17-year-old Caleb Pack, who excelled defensively while playing out of position at full-back and posed an attacking threat.
Ilminster manager Jason Behan was able to give playing time to all his substitutes, with Jefferson and Trusson both making an impact from the bench.
The team will look to build on their impressive start to the season in their upcoming fixtures.
They face Honiton at home on Tuesday, August 11, with a 7.30pm kick-off, and will aim to replicate last season's FA Vase success with a home match against step five Wellington on Saturday, August 15, kicking off at 3pm.
