Chard were on the road on Saturday (April 4) for the first fixture of the weekend to Clevedon United, always a close game.
Chard Town had some key players missing – Jason Contreras, Josh Morse, Jordan Clapp, Alex Manley, and Harry Clifford.
With a strong wind blowing across the pitch, it was Chard that started creating chances but the home side were looking sharper.
Then on 15 minutes, Ryan Mason beat three players in the corner and passed it to James Boyland who made no mistake and put it in the back of the net.
Clevedon United started creating chances and were rewarded with an equaliser on the half-hour mark.
This didn't last long and again it was Ryan Mason and James Boyland linking up, James Boyland put a great cross into the box onto the head of Luca Manley.
Clevedon United started the second half looking for an equaliser and at 51 minutes they got a penalty put away nicely.
Goalkeeper Reece Bannister had no chance.
Ten minutes later, Chard got in front again with a great goal by in-form Luca Manley with his 13th goal of the season and equal highest scorer of the season with Jordon Clapp.
With fresh legs on, Chard were hoping to hang on but it wasn't to be.
On 74 minutes, Clevedon United equalised again, making it 3-3.
Deep into extra time, Chard attacked looking for the winner and it was Ryan Mason who got it, making it 3-4.
Chard Town were back on the road on Easter Monday (April 6) as they travelled to Chilcompton Sports.
Ben Pitman and Jake Davey came in to help out and Olly Crittenden was on the bench.
The home side took the lead inside five minutes from a corner.
After 37 minutes, Chilcompton got their second, then two minutes later, their third.
On the hour mark, Chilcompton were awarded a penalty and again Reece Bannister didn't have a chance.
4-0.
Chilcompton scored again three minutes later.
One piece of positivity for Chard was the senior debut of Olly Crittenden, making it three U18 players on the pitch.
Chard lost 5-0 and now look forward to a home game against Clevedon AFC at Zembards Lane.
Kick-off is 3pm.
Then the following Sunday, Chard Town have the Groundhop fixture against Yatton & Cleeve KO 3pm.
