Somerset Premier Division: Wrington Redhill 4-5 Chard Town
CHARD Town came out on top in a back and forth battle with Wrington Redhill at the weekend.
The match in the Somerset County Premier Division saw both sides take the lead more than once but ultimately Chard won 4-5 away from home.
The three points takes Chard to ninth place in the league table and highlighted further their ability to score goals.
In the match, Jordan Clapp scored a hattrick to help Chard to victory.
He opened the scoring in the first minute as the game sprung straight to action.
However after five minutes, Wrington pulled a goal back and in the 17th minute they were in fron.
Clapp cancelled out that goal just two minutes later as he equalised, however that was merely the start.
From there, Wrington took the lead back before half time to conclude a frantic 45 minutes.
In the second period it was more of the same starting with Max Westlake scoring from long range to put Chard in front.
The hosts pulled a goal back to 4-3 and with 10 minutes to go it looked unlikely for a Chard win, however Clapp stepped up to help his side over the line with a last minute winner.
