Somerset Division One: Middlezoy Rovers Reserves 9-0 Combe St Nicholas
COMBE St Nicholas' difficult start to life in the Uhlsport Somerset County Division One continued at the weekend.
They were heavily beaten, 9-0, away from home against Middlezoy Rovers Reserves.
It was always going to be a tough game and Combe started slowly and conceded early on before a wind assisted cross looped into the net to make it 2-0 against the run of play.
The away side saw some chances flash wide and some good play down the right from Robbie Hunt on debut.
However a a poor piece of defending saw a flicked back heel turned in for 3-0 before half time.
The second half saw more of the same as the score ran up to 9-0 in favour of the hosts.
Manager Gary Parsley said after the game: "Middlezoy will be up around the top of the table, they are a solid, well drilled unit.
"The lads gave their all and we just need to keep working hard. 16yr old Robbie Hunt the stand out performer on his first start."
