Somerset Division One: Combe St Nicholas 1-7 Middlezoy Rovers Reserves
COMBE St Nicholas FC were well beaten at home at the weekend in the Uhlsport Somerset County Division One.
Middlezoy Rovers Reserves were too good and ran away with a 7-1 win at Combe.
It was a disappointing result for Combe after an initial good half an hour defending the slope.
Despite that, a few mistakes allowed Middlezoy to go into the break four goals in front.
A slow start to the second half saw the visitors dictate play and stretched the lead despite some great saves from keeper Sochon.
Combe got a goal back through Charlie Gibson after some lax play from Middlezoy's defence, but this was just a consolation.
Manager Gary Parsley said after the game: ”They were very strong opposition today, well drilled and strong in all areas."
Next up for Combe St Nicholas is the same fixture again but away from home as they travel to Middlezoy Rovers Reserves on Saturday, September 30.
