Perry Street & District Division Two: Merriot Saints 0-2 Chard Utd Res
IN the only weekend game at Chard United FC, the Reserves side defeated Meriott Saints 2-0 away from home.
It was a tough game in the heat, which saw the Res side come away with their third victory in a row.
The game started off slow for the Res, who couldn’t quite get hold of the ball, however the first goal came from the penalty spot.
Craig Willcocks dispatched it very well to give Chard a 1-0 lead into half time.
In the second period, Chard added more pressure again but Merriot stood firm until Logan Parkes scored a brilliant curling effort into the top corner from just inside the box.
Manager Parr said: “It was a tough game today in very hot conditions, we wasn’t at our best but we still came away with a win so I’m delighted, 3 in a row and sitting at the top of the table, we’re all very happy, we look forward to another tough test on Wednesday against Uplyme.”
