Ashton & Backwell United Reserves 5-0 Combe St Nicholas
COMBE St Nicholas' tricky start to life in the Uhlsport Somerset County Division One has continued after a humbling defeat at the weekend.
Away from home, Combe were beaten 5-0 by Ashton & Backwell Reserves.
The result means Combe have lost their opening two fixtures and are currently in a relegation place.
Obviously it is very early in the season still, and this side has some real quality in it, so once the players have adapted to the league more, the results will come.
In the match, Fraser Devlin, Billy Devoy, Thomas Smart, Jake Flower and Cameron Main all scored for the home side.
Last week the club confirmed officially, the return of manager Gary Parsley.
"Gary will this year be managing Combe First Team in their Somerset County Division 1 campaign after leading the Reserves side to a respectable mid table finish in the Perry Street Premier last season," the club said.
"With some new signings through the door to improve the side further, Gary is positive about the season ahead."
Up next for Combe is a home match against Staplegrove FC on Saturday, August 26.
