ILMINSTER Town Football Club has won the Tom Facey Cup 2023 after victory over Donyatt United.
It was a great game and a great advert for football in the local community, and of course a good way to build match fitness.
The pre-season tournament saw four teams, Tom Facey XI, Ilminster XI, Combe A and Donyatt United, face off to help local charities.
It is also a way to remember Tom Facey, who sadly passed away in 2005. RIP Tom.
After the final, Combe St Nicholas FC, who hosted the competition, said: "Congratulations to Ilminster, winners of the Tom Facey Cup 2023, beating Donyatt Utd in the final.
"Huge thank you to both teams in the final as well as Combe FC, the Tom Facey XI and everyone who supported, helping us raise over £700 for Young Lives vs Cancer in memory of Tom.
"A massive thank you to Ryan and Ross who organised the event."
