YEOVIL Town's away match against Bromley was abandoned yesterday (Saturday, December 3) following the death of a spectator.

The referee called off the encounter in the 11th minute of the National League clash due to a medical emergency in one of the stands.

Unfortunately the fan has since died.

The match, which had kicked off at lunchtime, was halted on six minuted to allow doctors in the crowd to attend to the supporter.

The supporter was rushed to hospital by ambulance after paramedic arrived on the scene, but sadly passed away.

Shortly afterwards the game was abandoned and fans were told to leave the Hayes Lane ground.

The home club later issued a statement saying: "Bromley Football Club can confirm that our home fixture with Yeovil Town on Saturday 3rd December was abandoned shortly after kick off due to a medical incident.
