SOUTH Petherton Football Club have claimed the Perry Street & District League Premier Division title with two games remaining.

They confirmed the title win with a 2-1 away win against second placed Chard United on Saturday.

In the match, South Petherton went two goals ahead in the first half after they capitalised on some defensive errors from Chard.

Bradley Davies got one back for United but no comeback was on the cards.

South Petherton had done enough to win the match and to win the Premier Division title.

It also continues their unbeaten run this season, after 13 games South Petherton have won ten games and drawn three.

With two games remaining it will be interesting to see if they can go a full season undefeated.

A lot of the team's goals this season have come through Charlie Berrington who has scored 11 goals and Mike Rousell with nine himself.

Jamie Underwood has also picked up seven goals over the campaign this season.

Some key results to mention this season for South Petherton include a 0-6 away win over Halstock, where Berrington scored four goals.

Another was their 6-1 home win over Ilminster Town Reserves, in which Underwood scored a hattrick.

The final two games of the campaign for South Petherton are against Forton Rangers and Misterton.

The league champions are at home this weekend, February 12 against Forton Rangers, kick off is 2.30pm.
