SOMERSET T20 captain Lewis Gregory will be playing in the Big Bash League play-offs, after helping Brisbane Heat defeat Perth Scorchers in their final league match on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old all-rounder scored 36 runs off 23 balls, which would prove invaluable in the final reckoning, as the Scorchers came up just six runs short of the Heat's 181-7.
Heat skipper Chris Lynn laid the groundwork with 51 off 25 balls, but they were 100-4 when Gregory came in to bat.
The Somerset man linked up with Australian international Marnus Labuschagne (46), and together they took the Heat score up past 150.

Gregory hit four fours and one six during his 23-ball stint, ended when he was bowled by Andrew Tye.
Chasing 182 to win, the Scorchers started well, with English openers Jason Roy (41) and Liam Livingstone (32) scoring well.
Both were removed by Mitchell Swepson (2-20), however, and Labuschagne took 3-35 to reduce the Perth side to 94-5.
Mitchell Marsh (54* off 26) was in defiant mood, but the Scorchers were unable to get over the line, finishing on 175-6.
The result leaves the Heat fourth in the final league standings, on 29 points, having won seven games and lost seven.
The play-offs kick off this coming Friday (8.15am UK time), when the Heat take on Adelaide Strikers.
