TAUNTON Town turn their focus back to league action tomorrow, after enjoying a thrilling 4-2 victory over Truro City in the FA Cup on Tuesday.

That win booked the Peacocks’ passage into the fourth round qualifying stage of the competition, and they now know that they will face Tonbridge Angels on October 24.

But league matters are at hand tomorrow (3pm), when Metropolitan Police visit the Cygnet Health Care Stadium.

“We have a few bumps and bruises [from Tuesday night] but nothing dramatic,” Taunton head of football Rob Dray told the County Gazette.

“It’s important that, after the FA Cup draw on Thursday, we focus on Saturday.

“We need the points, and Met Police are an underrated side, with two of the best strikers in the league.

“It’s another tough match for us, and could be really tight.”

Met Police have a decent record against the Peacocks, beating them home and away in the 2018/19 season.

The corresponding fixture last season finished 4-3 to Taunton, with goals from Jamie Price, Andrew Neal (2) and Matt Wright.

Both Taunton and Met Police have eight points as it stands, with the latter having played one more game; they have won two, drawn two and lost one so far.

Jack Mazzone is joint top of the Premier South scoring charts, with five goals in Met Police's opening five games.

Taunton fans are reminded that tickets for the match must be bought in advance, and can be purchased here.
