ILTON Cricket Club’s senior, junior, women’s and social members have kicked off their challenge of walking, running and cycling the 874 miles from Land’s End to John o’ Groats, in just seven days.
Members are using their daily exercise to count towards the miles covered, as part of a big fundraising campaign to improve facilities at the cricket club.
The project includes new disabled access and facilities, new changing rooms and showers, and a bigger viewing area for supporters and social members.
The club is running a crowdfunding campaign through Spacehive, with the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) having pledged £100 towards the project, and anyone who wishes to donate can do so by visiting spacehive.com/iltoncricketclub.
With a deadline of June 30, £630 has already been pledged to the project.
