WESTONZOYLAND gymnast Laura Gallagher and her fellow Team GB trampolinists have raised £5,000 for NHS charities through their #createdonate campaign.

The fundraiser - involving athletes posting creative images of them and their sport to social media to raise awareness - has been boosted by Team GB’s aerobic gymnasts, who have taken the total up to £8,000.

Off the back of their efforts, British Gymnastics has launched a #PresentForPounds fundraising campaign to recognise and support the NHS during the Covid-19 pandemic.

A ‘present’ is the move performed at the beginning and end of a gymnastics routine to show that a gymnast is ready for action or to celebrate nailing their routine.

British Gymnastics is calling on people to post a video or photo of themselves ‘presenting’ online as a salute to the NHS, using the #PresentForPounds tag.

Those involved are encouraged to donate to NHS Charities Together via British Gymnastics’ designated JustGiving page before nominating five friends to do the same.

In partnership with its affiliated home nations, British Gymnastics will match every donation up to a maximum of £50,000.
