SOMERSET are "getting better with every game" as they prepare for their crunch local derby against Gloucestershire tomorrow night (6.30pm), believes head coach Jason Kerr.

Somerset go into the match in fifth place in the Vitality Blast South Group table, with a game in hand on their fourth-placed visitors, following a run of three straight victories.

"I'm really pleased with how the lads have stood up and been counted in the past week," Kerr said.

"I think there are some similarities to last year – we seem to be getting smarter, thinking more clearly and getting better as the tournament is going on.

"It's always good fun playing against Gloucestershire and Friday will be no different.

"It is already sold out and our supporters will again create an amazing atmosphere."

Somerset are at full strength with the exception of T20 skipper Lewis Gregory, who remains absent with a foot injury.

It is perhaps unsurprising, then, that Kerr has named an unchanged squad as Somerset target a fourth consecutive win.

Somerset squad

Tom Abell (c), Babar Azam, Tom Banton, George Bartlett, Eddie Byrom, James Hildreth, Tim Groenewald, Tom Lammonby, Craig Overton, Jamie Overton, Ollie Sale, Jerome Taylor, Roelof van der Merwe, Max Waller.

Gloucestershire have won three of their last four matches, beating Hampshire by seven wickets on Tuesday to jump ahead of Somerset in the South Group standings.

Tomorrow's weather forecast is not promising, and Somerset CCC's wet weather advice is as follows:

"If the cricket match is affected by the weather, please visit our Match Centre or Twitter page to view all the latest updates and the prospects of play.

"Please note that, while we will do our best to help spectators who are travelling to the match, it will be the umpires and not the club who will make the decision as to whether play is possible."
