TAUNTON Town have announced the signing of Jack Rice, who had been on trial with the club.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has previously been at Plymouth Argyle and Yeovil Town, only to be released by the latter after a bad ankle injury in 2017.
Rice has since played for Barnstaple Town and Tiverton Town, before featuring in the Peacocks' three pre-season friendly matches this summer.
He scored against Tavistock, and caused Cheltenham Town real trouble with his pace after coming off the bench.
Taunton head of football Rob Dray told the club website: "Jack will give us something different.
"His pace and tenacity along with his attitude have been excellent since the start of pre-season and there is a lot more to come from him as he matures.”
This is Taunton's second signing of the week, following James Sleaman-Keane's arrival at the club.
The 24-year-old goalkeeper has come in as back-up to Lloyd Irish, having deputised for him in the friendly at Bridgwater Town.
