CHARD Town and Ilminster Town will face each other in a league fixture for the first time since the 1981/82 season in this upcoming campaign.
Chard have been relegated to Step 7 of the national football pyramid due to the slope on their Zembard Lane ground, dropping out of the Western League and into the Somerset County League.
The County League’s AGM took place on Monday night, and Chard’s place in the 17-team Premier Division was confirmed.
The other sides in the Premier Division will be: Chilcompton Sports, Clevedon United, Clutton, Fry Club, Ilminster Town, Keynsham Town Reserves, Mendip Broadwalk, Middlezoy Rovers, Nailsea & Tickenham, Nailsea United, Shirehampton, Stockwood Green, Stockwood Wanderers, Watchet Town, Westfield and Worle.

CHARD Town’s Under-18 side have been re-elected to the re-named Western Counties Floodlight League (South Division) for the 2019/20 season.
The other teams in the Southern section are: Bishops Lydeard, Cheddar, Glastonbury, Shaftesbury, Wellington, Wells City and Weymouth.
The league season will start on August 26 and end May 8, 2020.
In the cup, Chard have been drawn away to Street, with the tie to be played in the week commencing September 16.
