SOMERSET are looking to build on a winning start to their County Championship campaign as they take on Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge from tomorrow morning (11am).

An exciting 74-run victory over Kent kicked off the season and head coach Jason Kerr hopes they can take that momentum into this weekend.

“There are always a few nerves at the start of the season but I had every faith in us,” Kerr said.

“I thought we bowled fantastically on that final day and it sets us up nicely for this weekend.

“We know Notts will be a tough game but we had success there at the end of last season [both Tom Abell and Craig Overton claimed hat-tricks in Somerset’s innings victory] and hopefully we can replicate that.”

Nottinghamshire began their season with a draw at home to Yorkshire, Joe Clarke making 112 and 97 not out on his debut for the club.

England star Stuart Broad is also part of the home side's squad.

Somerset squad: Tom Abell (capt), Marcus Trescothick, Azhar Ali, James Hildreth, Eddie Byrom, Steve Davies (wk), George Bartlett, Lewis Gregory, Craig Overton, Josh Davey, Jack Brooks, Jack Leach, Tim Groenewald
