TWO goals from Dan Norman kept Winsham United in the Perry Street & District League Premier title race, as they won 3-2 at Chard United.

Tom Symes also netted for the visitors, before being sent off for a second yellow card, while Dan Scriven scored both for Chard.

Winsham are three points behind leaders South Petherton, who have played one game less, and the top two meet on Saturday, April 13 for what could be the decisive match.

As for Chard United, they are back on home turf again this coming Saturday, when they host Misterton (ko 2pm).

ELSEWHERE this week, Perry Street & Yonder Hill Reserves ensured they will play Hawkchurch in the final of the Arthur Gage Cup.

Street squeezed through their semi-final, 1-0 against Misterton Reserves, with skipper Chris Fry scoring.

It was a similar story at Waytown Hounds, where Hawkchurch substitute Chris Watson hit home the winner in extra time.

In the Premier Division, leaders South Petherton were back on the winning trail with a 5-0 victory over visitors Pymore with Harry Charles, Craig Gosney, Danny Rendell, Mike Rousell and Mark Tweedie on target.

Shepton Beauchamp slipped further into relegation trouble with a 2-1 defeat at struggling Halstock, who move further away from the zone.

Barrington’s see-saw season continued with a victory at Merriott Rovers, where a first-half strike from Kevin Gratton and Jordan Fowler’s 66th minute goal saw them home.

In Division 1, Ilminster Town Res slipped to a 4-1 defeat at home to Forton Rangers, Jordan Allen scoring their consolation.

It was top v bottom in Division 2, with leaders South Petherton Res duly beating Kingsbury Episcopi 4-1.

Second-placed Charmouth kept in the hunt with a 3-0 victory at home to Dowlish & Donyatt.

Crewkerne Rangers and Forton Rangers battled out a 1-1 draw, with Michael Calverley scoring for Crewkerne.

In Division 3, Winsham Utd Res returned to top form as they won 7-1 at Crewkerne Rangers A.

Ilminster B’s promotion run was hit by a 1-1 draw at Netherbury Res, while Thorncombe Res’ quest stumbled at home to Farway Res, who left with a 2-1 victory.

Jack McDougall was on target for Merriott Dynamos but it was not enough as Combe A won 2-1.

In the Kenny Hodges Cup, Jake Coulstock (2) and Andy Morley saw Ilminster Town A to a 3-2 win at home to Netherbury.

They are joined in the hat by Uplyme, who coasted to a 5-1 win at home to Chard Utd Res. James Souter-Phillips (2), Kieran Daniels, Harry Robson and an OG did the damage.

Danny Baker’s goal was scant consolation for Merriott Wildcats, who lost 5-1 at home to Chard Rangers.

And Donyatt Utd were 3-1 winners at Shepton Beauchamp Res after Darren Dabinett (2) and Louie Roper found the net.
