COMBE St Nicholas were no match for Division 3 leaders Middlezoy Rovers Reserves on Saturday, losing out 6-2.

Simon Bone, Steve Hall and Dan Luce scored two apiece for the hosts, with Combe substitute Luke Manley netting a brace in consolation.

Debutant Jack Male was awarded man of the match for Combe after a fine performance in midfield.

Combe sit 12th in the table, 12 points clear of the bottom two, and this Saturday they host 11th-placed Banwell (ko 3pm).

IN the Perry Street League, South Petherton made their move for the Premier Division title with a 4-1 win at Chard United as the other top sides dropped points.

Goals from Dan Rudge, Mike Rousell and Jack White saw them move to within a point of Winsham Utd, who lost 2-0 at Misterton.

Kieran Adams and Stuart Weston did the damage.

Reigning champs Barrington suffered a 6-1 thrashing at home to Farway utd.

Two goals apiece from Jack Murrell and Billy Reed started the rot and Oli Reed and Ben Fullick finished the job, Alex Thompson hitting the consolation.

A hat-trick from Rhys Hayter set up Pymore for their 4-3 win at home to Halstock; Jed Holt added the other.

And Shepton Beauchamp and West & Middle Chinnock battled out a 1-1 draw, Ryan Trevett scoring for Chinnock.

In Division 1, leaders Thorncombe beat Uplyme 3-0 with Alex Clyst hitting a hat-trick.

Gilly Gillman and Kyle Ashford were on target as Crewkerne Rangers beat Waytown Hounds 2-1, Richard Pincombe replying.

Ilminster Town A are through to the semi-final of the Tommy Tabberer Cup following their 2-0 victory at Donyatt Utd.

Goals from Jake Coulstock and Kaymon Lisney were enough to see them through.

Dowlish & Donyatt and Charmouth battled out a seven-goal thriller which Charmouth won by the odd goal.

Matt Baker (2) and Ryan McGuinn were on target for Dowlish but to no avail.

In the other ties, Forton Rangers Res coasted through 4-0 at home to Shepton Beauchamp Res, while Chard Utd Res were unable to raise a side at South Petherton Res.

In the semis, Charmouth face Forton, while South Petherton Res are at home to Ilminster Town A.

Division 3 leaders Winsham Utd Res got back on track with a shaky 1-0 win at home to lowly Combe St Nicholas A, Jake Entwistle on target.

Merriott Dynamos and Netherbury Res fought out a 1-1 draw with Paul Hooper scoring to Merriott and Kristian Steward replying.

Ilminster Town B continued their fine run with a 2-1 win at home to Merriott Wildcats.

Second-placed Lyme Regis Rovers were too strong for home side Farway Utd Res as they won 4-0, with goals from Ben Bowditch, Declan Ellis, Finlay McLean and an own goal.

In the John Fowler Cup, Thorncombe Res eased their way through to the semi-final with a 3-0 win at Chard Rangers Res.

Bryan Garrett, Craig Tovey and Stuart Packer were the goalscorers.

They now face Combe A in the semi, while Lyme Rovers take on Winsham Utd Res.

Misterton Res are through to the Arthur Gage semi-final with a 3-0 win at Combe Res.

Two from George Tuck and one from Ashley Dodge saw them through.

They will be joined by Hawkchurch who beat Ilminster Town Res 4-2 with goals from Gavid Herrod (2), Dan Richards and an OG.

Jordan Allen and Jake Woodard replied for Town.
