South West Women's Premier

Torquay United 1, Ilminster Town 3

ILMINSTER travelled to Torquay United on Sunday and came home with three points.

Hannah Billing returned to the first team squad and Ilminster came flying out the blocks, creating one or two good chances in the opening five minutes.

They opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after Georgia Coward found Abbie Carslake.

Her attempted cross flew over the keeper's head and into the top corner.

Town keeper Charlotte Johnson was rarely called into action and Ilminster doubled their lead in the 42nd minute.

A great reverse pass from Colette Martin found Carslake; her cross found Maisie Parker who sent the ball into the path of Dee Clarke-Trott Cracknell who calmly slotted home.

After the break, Ilminster went close to extending their lead but Torquay created one or two chances of their own.

The home side did find the next goal in the 71st minute after Dana Andrews was penalised when blocking a shot and the penalty was slammed home.

Charlotte Johnson made a great double save soon after and Ilminster made the points safe with a minute of normal time remaining as Parker darted into the area and her heels were clipped, enough for the referee to award a penalty.

Carslake stepped up to strike the ball into the top left corner.

Shortly after, Hannah Billing hit the inside of the post but the ball bounced away to safety.
