Beaconsfield Town 1, Taunton Town 2

TAUNTON Town moved six points clear at the top of the table after coming from behind to win 2-1 at Beaconsfield Town.

Ed Palmer's late winner followed Dan Sullivan's equaliser to seal a potentially decisive victory in the title race, with the Peacocks' cause helped by two of their challengers, Met Police and Salisbury, sharing the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

There were few clear-cut chances in a goalless first half - the busy Dan Sullivan came closest but saw a couple of shots fly off target and another couple blocked.

It took just four second half minutes for the deadlock to be broken and it was the hosts who got the breakthrough, as Brendan Matthew headed home Reece Yorke's cross.

Andrew Neal fired over as Taunton looked for an equaliser, which arrived just after the hour as Sullivan fired home from 20 yards.

Buoyed by their leveller, the Peacocks spent the remainder of the match on the front foot.

Ryan Brett saw an effort saved before Neal fired a shot from 40 yards which cannoned back off the crossbar as it began to look as though Taunton would be frustrated in their attempts to find a winner.

That was until, with five minutes left, Palmer netted a crucial goal to send the away fans into raptures.

Lloyd Irish had to be alert to save Charlie Losasso's 88th-minute free-kick as Taunton did enough to hold on for an excellent away win.
