SOUTH Petherton Reserves won their Somerset FA Intermediate Cup fourth-round match at Bridgwater Grasshoppers on Saturday.

The Perry Street League side overcame their Taunton Saturday League opponents 3-1, as goals from Hedgers, Louis Hockey and Elliot Wolfe saw Petherton triumph.

In the league, South Petherton's first team moved to within a point of Perry Street Premier leaders Winsham with a 2-1 win at home to fellow challengers Farway Utd.

Goals from Dan Rudge and Charlie Berrington sealed the points.

Strugglers Shepton Beauchamp and bottom club Pymore shared six goals and the same result occurred at Halstock in a feisty match against Chard United where two home players were sent off and three visitors booked.

Goals from Olly Hutchings, Dan Peach and an own goal for Halstock were matched by United’s Jamie Brown, Bradley Davies and Dan Potter.

Two first half goals from Luke Jennings were not enough for West & Middle Chinnock as Misterton hit back with two of their own.

In Division 1, third place visitors Waytown Hounds beat leaders Perry Street 2-1 as Adam Cody-Boutcher and Jon Legg found the net after Steve Every’s strike for the home side.

Ilminster Res turned on the tap at Netherbury with an 11-0 win, Will Spurway, Jack Read and Mitch Hooper scoring two apiece and Jordan Allen, Chris Bussell, Tom Fletcher, Kieran Manley and Dan Hanies adding the others.

James Whetlor scored a brace for Uplyme but visitors Forton Rangers replied with 13.

Crewkerne Rangers won their home match against Combe St Nicholas Res 3-1 with Liam Bagwell, George Gillman and Lloyd Kannair winning the points.

Donyatt Utd closed the gap at the top of Division 2 with a 7-1 home win against Crewkerne Rangers Res, while Chard Rangers hit two second-half goals to beat bottom club Kingsbury Episcopi.

Sam Grinter hit Dowlish and Donyatt’s goal at Forton Rangers Res but it was not enough to save them from a 2-1 defeat.

And goals from Ryan Hammett and Harry Paul saw Chard Utd Res to a 2-1 win at home to Shepton Res.

In Division 3, leaders Winsham Utd Res suffered a shock 3-2 defeat at Merriott Wildcats, who had Alfie Bargery (2) and Callum Newton on target.

Farway Utd Res and Ilminster B drew 1-1 while Craig Tovey’s goal was enough for Thorncombe Res to beat Netherbury Res.

Combe A and visitors Lyme Rovers battled to a 2-2 draw.

In the Bill Bailey Cup, Merriott Dynamos won 3-0 at Crewkerne Rangers A to go into the semi-final hat, Jak Flatt, Michael Hill and Paul Hooper on target.
