SOUTH Petherton’s pursuit of the Premier Division title continued on Saturday when they beat reigning champions Barrington 3-1.

Goals from Dan Rudge, Mike Rousell and Jack White were enough to take the points as Sam Spurway replied for the visitors.

Farway Utd stayed in touch as Jack Murrell’s goal was enough to see off visitors Chard Utd.

Two goals from George Trott and one from Ian Cochran helped West & Mid Chinnock to a 3-2 victory at home to Merriott Rovers, who scored through Tom Case and Jamie Spurdle.

Halstock beat Pymore 1-0.

Division 1 top team Thorncombe remain unbeaten . . . but only just as visitors Ilminster Town Res took them all the way before losing 4-3.

Jordan Allen, Warren Gabbidon and Keiran Manley scored for Ilminster.

Perry Street Res travelled to Hawkchurch and returned with a 3-1 win as Joe Allen (2) and Thomas Bastin found the net; Luke Harding replied.

Simon Vincent hit a hat-trick as Combe Res beat visitors Netherbury 6-1.

Oliver Davey, Matt Tooze and Tyler Macdonald also scored for the winners.

Uplyme and Misterton Res shared four goals.

Dowlish & Donyatt travelled to lowly Kingsbury and won 6-1 as Dan Vining hit a hat-trick, Nathan Doey two and Matt Baker the other in Division 3.

Donyatt Utd won 4-1 at Chard Utd Res, who had Bradley Davies on target, Charmouth and Crewkerne Rangers Res drew 2-2 and Shepton Beauchamp Res had a convincing 4-1 win at home to Chard Rangers.

The top two clashed in Division 3 and there was nothing to separate home side Winsham Utd Res and Merriott Dynamos who shared six goals.

Thomas Stead hit two and Ryan Cox the other for top-of-the-table Winsham, while Lewis Mitchell (2) and Luke Robins replied

Ilminster Town B visited Merriott Wildcats and returned with a 4-3 win.

Mike Usher (2), Richard Curwood and Callum Smith scored for the winners as Tyler Perrett (2) and Callum Newton replied.

In the other fixture, Netherbury Res beat visitors Farway Utd Res 4-1.

South Petherton Res are into the semis of the Jack Venn Cup following their 3-0 win at Ilminster A, Mark Nelms, Elliot Wolfe and Josh Bellew on target.

And Charlie Gibson’s strike saw Combe A into the semis of the John Fowler Trophy at Crewkerne Rangers A.
