MINEHEAD Masters Over-35s team travelled to Gillingham for the next stage in the England Hockey Cup.

An anxious Minehead plus friends took to the field, but from the whistle they took the game to Gillingham and dominated play in all aspects.

Captain Vicky Perkins was absolutely outstanding throughout the game, orchestrating the play from midfield.

The first goal scored by Karen Hutchins was a superb, class finish and Perkins soon slotted another past the keeper.

The away side were 2-0 up at half time, and added a further four goals in the second half with Rose Blenkinsopp scoring two, Dee Lancaster netting one and Hutchins scoring another to add to the tally.

The player of the match award went to Vicky Perkins, closely followed by Karen Hutchins, Carol Matravers and Wendy Daughtrey.

It was a fabulous game played in great sporting spirit by both sides.

Minehead now look forward to the draw for the next round of the cup competition.
