SOMERSET will open their 2019 County Championship campaign at home to newly-promoted Kent, who visit the Cooper Associates County Ground on April 5.

Kent have won 14 of the last 15 matches between the sides, so Somerset will aim to lay that hoodoo to rest early on.

Their next home match is against Surrey, the Division 1 holders making the trip to Taunton on May 14.

Somerset finish the Specsavers County Championship season at home to Essex, from September 23.

The Royal London One-Day Cup fixtures have also been released, Somerset starting that competition in similar fashion, with a home match against Kent Spitfires (on April 19).

They face local rivals Gloucestershire at the Brightside Ground, Bristol, on April 28.
