IT has been another good year for Vivary Golf Club's Ladies Section, with an increased membership allowing them to play friendly matches both at home and away.

Vivary ladies meet on Wednesday and Friday mornings, for competitions and fun games; all are welcome to come along at 9.15am to join in.

Medal winners for the 2018 season: April, June and September - Vanessa Worden; May - Ruth Crooks; July - Pam Shuttleworth; August - Sally Thomas; October - Janet Vick.

There were a total of 15 cups/trophies played for over the season and the winners are included in the group photo.

IN the Sunday Stableford Competition at Oake Manor, the first three players all scored 36 points. 

On countback, Mike Tourle was first, Mark Tydings came second, Simon Molloy was third and Mathew Bright was fourth with 35 points.

Simon Molloy won the Wednesday Stableford Competition scoring 32 points, Martin Rivers was second with 29 points, Mike Cottrell was third also on 29 points and Graham Wiskin fourth.

The Invitation Day event was won by Seniors vice-captain Colin Shepherd and his partner Les Neville from Tiverton Golf Club with an impressive score of 44 points.

Colin Warnes and his partner John Patterson, from Long Sutton Golf Club, were second with 41 points, third were Phill Gadd and his partner John Earp, from Enmore Park Golf Club, with 39.

Jill Loader and Claire Tough won the Ladies Summer Pairs Knock Out Competition beating her daughter Kathryn Loader and Shane Bordier in the final.

John Byrne and Shane Bordier won the Mixed Pairs Knock Out Competition, beating Mike & Liz How in the final.

ON Tuesday, the Ladies Section at T&P played a Stableford competition.

In the Silver Division, Corinne Lyon was the winner with 34 points, three ahead of Mary-Jo Shepherd, who scored the only two of the day.

Jackie Pike won the Bronze Division with 35 points, two ahead of second placed Anna Rees. Two players returned with 30 points, but following countback it was Margaret Blackballer who was third.
