TAUNTON Town welcome Matt Wright back into the fold for tonight's match at Dorchester Town (ko 7.45pm), the captain having served a three-game ban for his red card in the defeat at Metropolitan Police.

They remain without Ryan Brett (his second part of a three-match suspension), but Pierce Mitchell is eligible after his red card away to Poole Town on Saturday.

The 1-0 defeat to Poole saw the Peacocks sink to fifth in the table, and it will be important that they pick up a positive result at 16th-placed Dorchester, ahead of their big FA Cup match away to Billericay Town on Saturday.

We spoke to the Dorset Echo's Neil Walton for a lowdown on the Peacocks' next opponents.

"Dorchester brought to an end a streak of four games without victory with a last-gasp 2-1 win at Basingstoke Town earlier this month, before a 1-1 draw with Walton Casuals last Saturday.

"Cameron Murray’s 93rd-minute goal at Basingstoke gave the Magpies their first triumph since early September, when Wimborne Town were defeated 3-0 in an FA Cup first qualifying round replay.

"Between those wins, Dorchester were knocked out of the FA Cup by Tiverton Town and the City Security Services League Challenge Cup 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at home to a weakened Poole Town side.

"A humbling 3-0 league loss to Hendon and a battling 2-2 draw with Beaconsfield also followed the Wimborne success for Steve Thompson’s men.

"Perhaps central to Dorchester’s patchy form has been the lack of an experienced target man up front.

"Thompson has failed to secure a genuine number nine in his one-year tenure and teenage marksman Ash Pope is currently out injured with a medial knee ligament problem.

"Wingers Aaron Rodriguez, Tom Blair and back-up forward Alex Stafie have all led the line as Dorchester’s search for a suitable striker continues."

Players to watch:

Cameron Murray (winger) – Murray is the Magpies’ top scorer this season with his four goals all coming in league trim.

The Yorkshireman was a key summer signing and counts FC United of Manchester, York and Scarborough Athletic among his former clubs.

Murray is known for his pacey runs on either flank and often drifts inside to link up play.

Harry Kite (midfielder) – The Exeter City loanee has made a significant impact during his six-month loan with the Magpies.

For a teenager, Kite is rarely flustered on the ball and possesses a full range of passing.

His repertoire allows him to pick the correct pass even when pressed. Kite has also gained a reputation for tough tackling.

Aaron Rodriguez (winger) – Since his return from a broken foot sustained in pre-season, Rodriguez has been a focal point for Dorchester’s attacking play.

The former Weymouth man has scored three goals this season and has a fierce left foot.

Although unsuited to the role, Rodriguez has occupied the number nine position in recent games and much prefers playing on the wing.
