JASON Inchley, from Chard, came away with two third places from the RDA National Championships at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire.

Inchley, 22, qualified for the fourth year in a row and performed well to earn two podium places.

Due to his disability, Jason is a grade 2 rider which means he is only able to do walk/trot tests.

He rode a Freestyle to music test for only the second time and gained a score of 70%, and a Championship test with a score of 68.15% – less than 2% off the winner.

Jason has ridden with Chard and District RDA since he was seven years old, but only started thinking about competing after watching the Paralympic Dressage at London 2012.

He now rides a horse from the North Cornwall RDA group and has also been riding a mechanical horse owned by Blackmore Vale RDA, but continues to be kindly sponsored by the Chard & District group.

Inchley hopes to find a horse of his own so that he can move up a level and compete in Paradressage; his ultimate goal is to ride for Great Britain.
