Lansdown 70-2 beat Ilminster 69 by 8 wkts

ILMINSTER were crushed by eight wickets away to Lansdown on Saturday, having been bowled out for 69 in just 28.4 overs.

Top batsmen Louis Kraucamp went for just four, and things did not get much better for Ilminster, as only Jonny Warry (12) and Craig Rice (10) reached double figures.

In fact Extras, with 20, outscored all of their batsmen.

Wrecker-in-chief for the hosts was Josh Smith, who took exceptional figures of 6-13 off 8.4 overs.

The away side did have a brief glimmer of hope when they reduced Lansdown to 17-2, but that was as good as it got as Jordan Smith was unbeaten on 33 and Ryan Thorpe hit 24no.

Ilminster have a bye next Saturday.

WEPL Somerset Division
Chard 134-9 tied with Bridgwater 2nds 134

CHARD played out an enthralling tie at home to Bridgwater 2nds, both sides ending on 134 runs.

Opting to field first, the hosts had Bridgwater reduced to 17-4, but Alastair Witts (15) and Will Moyse (17) dragged their team's score upwards.

But it was Dan Rossiter (68 off 73 balls) who truly shone for the visitors, being the last man to fall at 139 all out.

Akhona Jeremiah Mbanga claimed 3-27 and Richard Scott 3-34 for Chard, both off eight overs.

The hosts' reply was troubled, too, falling to 26-2 and 43-5, but Chris Scott hit 41no to take his side within sight of victory.

The overs ran out, though, Nathan Johnson (18) falling at 134-9.

Chard host North Petherton this Saturday (12.30pm start).

North Perrott 121-1 beat North Petherton 120 by 9 wkts

NORTH Perrott moved up to third in the Somerset Division table after a nine-wicket demolition of hosts North Petherton on Saturday.

Liam Winter (19), Tom Williams (25) and Lloyd Irish (27) then counter-attacked to bring their side’s tally past 100.

But the last five wickets were lost for just 21 runs, Gordon Whorlow taking 4-6 off 5.1 overs, and Pethy were all out for 120 in 38.1 overs.

Whorlow was more patient, hitting 10 4s as he ended unbeaten on 58 (from 98 balls).

Alongside John Ireland (8no), he took Perrott to the finish line in 31.1 overs.
