TEAM TALK: Jordan Storey in the pre-match huddle

He made his first Football League start in the 1-0 defeat at Luton Town in February and has made 17 appearances across the season, starting both legs of the play-off semi-final victory against Lincoln City.

Storey was not at fault for any of Coventry’s three goals in the final, two of which were fine finishes from the edge of the box and the other coming courtesy of a deflection.

The 20-year-old spent the closing stages up front after a late consolation gave the Grecians a glimmer of hope, but they were well beaten on the day and left to rue a second play-off final defeat at Wembley in as many seasons.

Storey’s impressive performances at the heart of the defence during the 2017/18 campaign have certainly marked him out as one to watch, and he will be hoping to build on his strong start next season.

If he keeps progressing at the rate he has been, he could yet follow in the footsteps of the several other Exeter youngsters who have moved up the divisions in recent years.
