THE Chard Darts League’s Pairs finals night last Monday evening did not enjoy an outstanding turnout due to the Bank Holiday, but despite that a good competition unfolded.
The duos of Dave Mears/Adam Pidgeon and Kevin Warr/Barbara Derham enjoyed good runs in the competition but exited at the semi-final stage, leaving two pairs to fight it out to be champions.
The final, which was contested by Rich Davies/Deanna Mears and Steve/Tracey Scriven, saw Steve win the first leg with a double 16.
Rich and Deanna picked up the pace in the second leg and on going ahead Deanna finished on double nine.
The third leg again saw Deanna finish, and on a tight fourth leg Rich finished at the bottom of the board with a double three.
That meant Rich Davies and Deanna Mears ended up as the winners.
Scoring the final was league secretary Matt Ballance, who had organised the evening’s competition.
RUNNERS-UP: Tracey and Steve Scriven.
