CHARD Town are hoping to end the season on a high note tomorrow (Wednesday) night when they face Cullompton Rangers in the Axminster Hospital Cup Final.

The Robins, who were battered 7-0 by promoted Bridgwater Town in their final match of the season in the Premier Division of the Toolstation Western League on Saturday, will be looking to bounce back and return home to Zembard Lane with some silverware to celebrate.

The final is being held at Sector Lane, Axminster, and the game kicks-off at 6.30pm.

Chard have done well to survive their first season in the Premier Division following their promotion last season - especially considering manager Stu Parris has rarely been able to field a settled side because of injuries, suspensions and other reasons hitting his thin squad.

But they will take heart from the fact that despite losing 22 and winning just nine of their 42 league games, they will have learnt many lessons during their first season in the top flight of the Western League.

And there were many games during the season where Parris admitted that had Chard had a bit more Lady Luck on their side then more points would have been secured.
