CHARD C successfully saw off Yeovil B with ease on what was a blustery Bank Holiday Monday in Yeovil.

This match was Chard C's first match of the season and with the encounter between last year's two relegated clubs, it seemed like it was going to be a challenging night. It was not to be that way, as Chard won the first two rubbers without dropping a set, which meant only one set was needed from the following two to win.

Chard comfortably won 9-2 with time to spare, and all the team played very well especially Paul Vincent who had not picked a racquet up for almost a year. Shot of the match had to go to Collette Boyle, who survived two fierce slice drives before lobbing both opponents into the far corner following a neat drop shot.

Chard now look forward to playing Weymouth B at home just under two weeks' time.
