HOLYROOD Academy played host to its second Primary Schools ‘Fun Run’ event of the year when despite freezing conditions, primary pupils turned out in large numbers to overcome the challenges of the course, held in the academy’s extensive grounds.
A total of 145 young athletes – 66 girls and 79 boys – were bravely led around by Holyrood students from year 7. The Under-9s competed over 900m and the team winners were Combe (girls) and Neroche (boys).
The Under-11s competed over 1,400m and the team winners were Neroche (girls) and Redstart (boys). School Sports Co-ordinator, Jason Hedaux said: “I would like to thank Avishayes, Buckland, Combe, Manor Court, Redstart, Winsham, Hawkchurch, Tatworth and Neroche for supporting this event, allowing pupils to experience inter school competition. The day was brilliant.”
