THERE have been some dramatic changes in the Ilminster Bowls Club's indoor leagues.

In the Friday night Milford & Dormor mixed triples league Petherton B (Bill Anderson) capitalised on a rare defeat for Ilminster K (Bev Brister) to replace them at the top on shot difference.

Meanwhile Ilminster H (Barry Sims) the conquerors of Ilminster K are third on the same number of points.

In the Thursday night pairs league, a late charge by Rex Corbet saw off Roy Orme by a single shot, and lifted Corbet into second place a point behind Dave Crouch who suffered a defeat at the hands of Jill Parker.

The Wednesday night rinks league is also heading for a close finish after a top of the table clash between the Numpties (Dave Crouch) and Sue’s Babes (Sue Spurway) saw the Numpties come out on top and ease to a two point lead.

The Inmates (Steve Web-ster) are in third place with the same points as Sue’s Babes.

With Ilminster H (Mike King) looking unassailable at the top of the Wednesday afternoon mixed triples league, the only question remaining is who will be runners-up. With Allsorts (Paddy McDonagh) losing to Ilminster H, Ilminster G (Roy Orme) leapfrogged Allsorts to go into second place two points clear.

A similar question needs to be resolved in the men’s Tuesday night triples. With Ilminster N (Kevin Hamilton) yet to be beaten this season Ilminster B (Barry Sims) and Ilminster R (Roger Pincombe) appear on track to decide the runners-up spot between them, with just two points separating the teams with the same number of games played.

Ilminster played in two Somerset and Devon Mixed league matches last week, losing both.

The first was on Friday against Mid Devon with Ilminster losing on both rinks.
