TAUNTON are due to race again on Tuesday (February 18) when they stage the Bathwick Tyres Half-Term meeting.
The seven race card gets underway at 2.05pm and the gates open at noon.
The big race of the day is the The Bathwick Tyres Handicap Hurdle (3.35pm), a Class 2 event over 2m 1f, which has a massive £18,500 up for grabs.
In addition to the action on the course there will be activities to entertain children of all ages, including face painting, a bouncy castle and a ‘dog and duck’ display.
There will also be a free goody bag for the first 300 children under 13 through the gate.
At the end of racing there will be a collection for ‘Follow Your Dreams’, a charity devoted to raising awareness and supporting local children with learning disabilities.
Accompanied children Under 16 are admitted free and substantial discounts are available, up to 20%, by booking in advance at www.tauntonracecourse.co.uk Punters are reminded that a courtesy bus service departs from Taunton Railway Station an hour before the first race.
It picks up at the bus station near the town centre shortly afterwards and leaves the course 30 minutes after the final race.
