POLICE have issued this picture showing the state of a wheel on a car caught being driven on the M5.
Avon and Somerset Police received a call from a member of the public reporting that the vehicle was being driven "dangerously" on the motorway.
Officers from the force's roads policing unit caught up with the driver and pulled them over in the incident in the early hours of yesterday (Monday, November 7).
The driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
A spokesperson for the roads policing unit posted on social media: "Thanks to the driver who called in regarding this vehicle being driven dangerously on the #M5 in the early hours today!
"Driver arrested for drink driving.
"#FATAL5 - Drink/Drug Driving was a factor in a 1/3 of all fatal collisions in @ASPolice during 2020."
